Participation in this module will help students to work on their master degree theses in human biology (HB). The theses are based on students’ own investigations and must be empirical. They will also gain knowledge of basic scientific methodology utilized in different disciplines of HB (mostly in somatology and physiology), |

1. Discussion of topics of master's theses (PM) selected by students; discussion 2., 3., 4. Presentation of the progress of individual PMs. - student presentations 5. General principles of writing PM, discussion of students 6. Citations in the text and bibliography at the end of the work, discussion 7. Discussion of sources of obtaining literature information and their substantive assessment; discussion 8. Introduction, purpose and research hypotheses of the PM, discussion 9. Material and methods; analysis of own results, 10. Discussion of results, conclusions. 11. Preparation of tables (work basis) and figures (table interpretation); discussion 12, 13, 14. Statistical methods used in individual PMs; discussion 12. Summary of each master's thesis, student presentations |

Efekty kształcenia i opis ECTS: |
Knowledge: BI1_WO1 - Student understands phenomena and processes in human biology. BI1_WO4 - Student knows the main problems in different disciplines of human biology and knows their relations with other ones in natural sciences. BI1_W05 – Student possesses knowledge about basic terminology in human biology, knows current trends methodological applications in human biology. Skills: BI1_U02 – Student understands literature in Polish in human biology; reads and understands uncomplicated scientific texts in English BI1_U03 – Student is able to use existing sources of information, including electronic ones. BI1_U10 - Student is able to prepare presentation and present it orally, concerning detailed problems in human biology. BI1_U11 – Student is able to learn under supervision. Social competencies: BI1_K04 – Student correctly identifies and makes relevant decisions in relation to his/her profession BI1_K07 – Student shows a necessity of permanent actualization of his/her specific knowledge ECTS [1 ECTS=30 hours] |
