Short description: |
During the course of the subject problems related to the foundations of plant communities classification are discussed. The student gets acquainted with the diversity of the plant cover in Poland. Learning objectives: To learn the principles of distinguishing plant communities, their names and classifications. Familiarization with the basics of the syntaxonomy. Knowledge of major Polish plant communities and their phytosociological characteristics. Identification of the habitat requirements of selected plant species and plant communities. |
Efekty kształcenia i opis ECTS: |
Knowledge: 1. Student is acquainted with ecological factors, which influents on the development of a plant cover, understands basic biological processes; 2. Student classifies types of phytocenosis correctly, is able to characterize chosen Polish plant communities and is acquainted with connections between the phytosociology and other natural disciplines; 3. Student has the knowledge of basic phytosociological terms, is familiarizing with rules of the syntaxonomy; 4. Student is acquainted with chosen research methods, which are used to characterize plant communities. Skills: 5. Student understands the literature about phytosociological researches, in particular is able to recognize chosen Polish plant communities; 6. Student uses available sources of information about the plant cover, including electronic sources; 7. Student can prepare and present an oral presentation on detailed issues in Polish plant communities. Competences: 8. Student understands the importance of knowledge in solving cognitive and practical problems in the range of phytosociology. |
