Basic instruments of environmental policies and natural resources management, correcting of market failures (externalities), economic aspects of sustainable development, financing of environmental protection projects, economic effects of international conventions and EU directives, environmental cost and benefits of investment Subjects of lessons: 1. Goals, principles and instruments of environmental policies, mistakes in environmental policy, taxes and regulations, 2-4. Tradable permits: advantages and problems, EU Emission Trading Scheme, allowances for CO2 emissions in Poland, emissions trading, 5-6. Externalities and correcting methodes, Coase theorem, public policy and externalities, decision mechanisms, 7-8. Renewable and non-renewable resources, property laws, optimal use of resources (fishing, forestry), 9-10. Methodes for economic valuation of environment, total economic value, advantages of environment valuation, examples of valuation by travel cost methode, 11-12. Financing of environmental protection in Poland, costs and benefits of Poland integration with EU in environmental protection, 13-14. Examples of cost-benefit analysis: construction of great water reservoirs, reduction of heavy metals emissions to atmosphere. 15. Credit. Methods of evaluation: - colloquium |

(in Polish) Po zajęciach student zna i rozumie: - w zaawansowanym stopniu wybrane obiekty i zjawiska oraz dotyczące ich metody i teorie, wyjaśniające złożone zależności między nimi, stanowiące podstawową wiedzę ogólną z zakresu inżynierii środowiska (IS1P_W03), - wiedzę z zakresu matematyki, fizyki, chemii i innych obszarów właściwych dla studiowanego kierunku studiów przydatną do wyjaśniania złożonych zależności między (IS1P_W04), - fundamentalne dylematy współczesnej cywilizacji (IS1P_W05), - podstawowe ekonomiczne, prawne i inne uwarunkowania różnych rodzajów działań inżynierskich (IS1P_W06), - podstawowe pojęcia i zasady z zakresu ochrony własności przemysłowej i prawa autorskiego (IS1P_W07), - podstawowe procesy zachodzące w cyklu życia urządzeń, obiektów i systemów technicznych stosowanych z inżynierii środowiska (IS1P_W01), Student potrafi: - dokonać wstępnej oceny ekonomicznej proponowanych rozwiązań i podejmowanych działań inżynierskich (IS1P_U13), Student jest gotowy do: - uznawania znaczenia wiedzy w rozwiązywaniu problemów poznawczych i praktycznych problemów inżynierskich (IS1P_K02). Evaluation criteria: (1) Knowledge (IS1P_W03, IS1P_W04, IS1P_W05, IS1P_W06, IS1P_W07, IS1P_W01): note 2 (insufficient): the lack of basic knowledge in environmental economics, note 3 (sufficient): student has limited basic knowledge in environmental economics, note 4 (good): student has basic knowledge in environmental economics, with not full knowledge on measures of externalities correcting and environmental policies instruments, note 5 (very good): student has full basic knowledge in environmental economics, taking into account knowledge on measures of externalities correcting and environmental policies instruments, (2) Skills (IS1P_U13): note 2 (insufficient): student is unable to provide initial economic analysis of undertaken engineering activities, note 3 (sufficient): student has limited ability to provide initial economic analysis of undertaken engineering activities, note 4 (good): student has an ability to provide initial economic analysis of undertaken engineering activities, note 5 (very good): student has a very good ability to provide initial economic analysis of undertaken engineering activities, (3) Competencies (IS1P_K02): note 2 (insufficient): student has not awareness of importance and does not understand economical aspects and effects of engineering activities, note 3 (sufficient): student has limited awareness of importance and understand of economical aspects and effects of engineering activities, note 4 (good): student has awareness of importance and well understand of economical aspects and effects of engineering activities, note 5 (very good): student has awareness of importance and perfectly understand of economical aspects and effects of engineering activities, Final note: - activity on lessons, - colloquium. |
