FULL DESCRIPTION OF THE SUBJECT: 1)The first semester Substantive issues: During the seminar students are going to discuss chosen problems of the philosophy of medicine (the life and death problem, medicine as the science and art, methods of the medicine, medical language, etc.) and the philosophy of natural science. |

Knowledge: EK_1 – student has knowledge on biological and medical science EK_2 –student knows principles of the analysis of philosophical texts and methods of the scientific work Skills: EK_3 – student is able to judge critically various philosophical concepts EK_4 – student has the ability of formulating his/her own hypotheses and present his/her opinion Competence: EK_5 – student is open to views of other participants of the seminar EK_6 – student is able to express his/her own opinions ECTS: attending seminar - 30 preparation to seminar - 25 preparation of presentation - 30 presentation of passages from an MA thesis - 30 Consultation - 10 Total hours 120 [120 : 30(25) = 4] ECTS - 4 |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
Conditions for receiving a credit: 1. Attendance and active participation in seminar 2.Written work: a) II year students – my MA students: at least one chapter of the thesis b) I year students and the rest of II year students – a book review (full text around 5 printed pages) 3.For all students – to deliver a paper on the chosen (or given) article taken from one of the latest philosophy magazines. I year students are obligated to declare this seminar as their MA seminar by the end of the first semester. |
