Efekty kształcenia i opis ECTS:

Knowledge: student defines political philosophy a field of knowledge, knows its connotations, can describe interactions between philosophy and political theories, identifies and properly defines content related to the concept of political philosophy and the role political thinking plays in modern culture. Student can name and describe political theories discussed in the classroom (from ancient Greece to the Middle Ages), can enumerate the major authors and thinkers in the field of political philosophy, name and describe the main ideas as well as interpret their philosophical and social connotations. Student is acquainted with the sources and philosophical paradigms that became the basis for specific politico-social theories.

Skills:

Student listens and understands ideas as well as philosophical and political arguments verbally presented during lectures. Student can assess cognitive value of the materials presented, is capable of interpretation and verifying the connection between philosophical content and political ideas. Student analyses and evaluates properly the acquired content (context of philosophical thinking) categorizing its connection with social and political ideas. Student is able to apply correctly politico-philosophical terms, knows, verifies and can assess philosophical arguments on which his/her interpretation of political solutions and projects of social life is based.

Competences:

Student critically analyses the course, expresses his/her own opinions on the proposed statements and can provide the intellectual reasons. Student is familiar with the implications that arise on the point of contact between philosophy and politics, draws conclusions from the material learned demonstrating an ability to reflect on based on philosophical ideas projects of political life and their consequences in social life. The content learned as well as the perceptible connections between philosophical categories and political projects unable student to formulate independently his/her assessment of particular political concepts. Student understands and can demonstrate philosophical ideas that inspired great political concepts intended to solve social problems.
