Preliminary Requirements:

basic knowledge of environmental protection and environmental impact assessments

Short description:

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the importance of impact assessments for environmental protection as part of the investment process.

Full description:

Environmental impact assessments are one of the basic instruments of preventive environmental protection. The decision on environmental conditions is one of the basic decisions in the investment process. The classes will present the genesis of impact assessments, their development in international law as well as EU law.

In the part concerning Polish law, the regulations concerning strategic environmental impact assessment, environmental impact assessment of projects, assessment of impact on the Natura 2000 area, cross-border impact assessment will be discussed in detail.

The course of the proceedings, public participation in the proceeding, documents prepared by the investor, functions of decisions on environmental conditions will be presented - taking into account the differences for projects that can always significantly and potentially significantly affect the environment.
