Short description:	The standard method of animal ethics consists in the production of a normative ethical theory deducing the morally required treatment of non human animals from a conception of moral animal moral status and giving prescriptions for the the right conduct in the various fields of relationships with animals. The course is aimed at presenting a different approach to animal ethics: the relevant ethical issues will be examined “from the inside” through a case by case analysis of the main contexts of human/animal interaction. The use for food, the research on animals and the conservation of wild species will be examined by means of a naturalistic methodology focused on the darwinian evolutionary theory.
