The aim of the course is to present legal regulations regarding water protection.

As part of the subject, assumptions regarding water protection in Polish law will be presented. These include issues such as the subject of protection (i.e., how waters are classified), and water protection principles. In addition, water management principles will be presented, including the administration system related to water protection.

As part of the subject issues of water ownership and related obligations of owners will be discussed.

Further issues relate to ensuring security related to water management, which consists of min. drought protection as well as flood protection.

Economic instruments such as water intake fees are also related to the topic.

As part of the lecture, issues related to water law approvals, including water law notification, water law permit, and water law assessment will also be discussed.

One of the issues to be discussed is the issue of liability for the unlawful use of water.

1. Uses basic terminology, enabling description of legal solutions in the scope related to water protection

2. Has basic knowledge enabling the description of environmental law in the part related to water protection, recognizes and defines rules for water protection

3. Identifies law instruments regarding water protection and the institutional environment

B. Skills

4. Interprets legal acts and draws the right conclusions based on them (analyzes legal acts and uses sets of legal acts and searches for necessary acts, constructs simple legal norms based on legal provisions) in relation to water law

5. Is able to assign legal instruments to a specific event, indicating a legal solution to a problem related to water protection

C. Competence

6. Is aware of the importance of legal standards for the implementation of water protection

7. Is able to work individually, showing initiative and independence in actions, and effectively cooperating in teamwork, performing various roles in it.
