Students will learn about history of psychological thought on self-enhancemend, overclaiming, narcissism and entitlement. They will learn contemporary theories and most important studies in this area.

1. Self-enhancement: forms and definition

2. Self-enhancing Triad: above average effect, unrealistic optimism, illusion of control

3. Chosen mechanisms of self-enhancement: self-serving bias, mnemic neglect, strategic social comparison, self-handicapping.

4. Overclaiming: definition and measurement.

5. SeCeBreSE theory

6. Classical ant contemporary theories of narcissism

7. Narcissism: trait or personality disorder

8. Forms and types of narcissism

9. Diagnosis and mesurement of narcissism

10. Circumplex Model of Narcissism

11. Similar personality disorders. Dark Triad.

12. Social and intrapersonal functioning of narcissistic people

13. Entitlement: definitions and forms

14. Correlates of entitlement

15. Narcissism and entitlement in cross-cultural perspective

PS_W02 The student has knowledge of the basic theories in the field of psychology of selfenhancement. He knows the key research in this area.

PS_W03 The student is able to analyze the current information and phenomena related to the self-enhancement and interpret them in relation to psychological knowledge

PS_K03 The student demonstrates an attitude of tolerance and respect towards people with a different approach toward construing the self
