  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;

Preliminary Requirements:

Interest in human development opportunities, personality, mental health and good quality of life in adulthood.

Short description:

The lecture aims to bring closer the issues of achieving personal maturity and higher developmental stages in adulthood. Issues such as personality development, maturity vs. personal immaturity, development towards values, moral and spiritual development, personal integration as a condition for mental health and good quality of life are considered. Elements of the theories of Le Senne, Erikson, Costa and McCrae, Kohlberg and Dąbrowski as well as threads from the field of philosophical anthropology are taken into account.

Full description:

1. Temperamental foundations of personality development (Le Senne's typology). Emotionality, activity, mental response and their interrelationships. Character types.

2. Development of psychosocial personality according to Erikson. Solving eight normative crises in the course of life. Maturity vs personal immaturity

3. Personal immaturity and its causes. Emotional Disappearance Syndrome (Terreuwe and Baars)

4. Higher stages of moral development in terms of Kohlberg. Moral development and spiritual development.

5. Development through positive disintegration (Dabrowski)

Efekty kształcenia i opis ECTS:

1. The student knows the temperamental foundations of personality development in terms of Rene Le Senne.

2. Has knowledge of psychological concepts of personal / psychosocial / emotional maturity.

3. Recognizes the manifestations of maturity vs personal immaturity.

4. Has knowledge of higher stages of development in the sphere of personality and moral development.

5. Knows the issues related to the autonomy, responsibility and self-education of adults and the importance of personal integration for mental health and good quality of life.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Students listen to lectures and take part in discussions.

The final grade consists of:

- attendance at classes (25%)

- final exam result (75%).

The exam is written and has a difficulty level of 60% (three open questions). Each answer is scored on a scale from 0 to 3 points (pass threshold 5 points). The content of lectures and materials posted on the classes page on the MSTeams platform apply to the exam. People who attended at least three lectures can take the exam.
