Short description:

During the course, students receive knowledge about the phenomenon of the effectiveness of psychotherapy, the determining factors as well as ways to measure the effectiveness and methods of its evaluation.

Full description:

During the course, students have to deliver the following presentations:

1. The concept of psychotherapeutic relationship, included in the tripartite model of psychotherapeutic relationship extracting: psychotherapeutic alliance, transference and real relationship.

2. The term "psychotheraputic alliance" and its connection with the formation of a psychotherapeutic relationship.

3. The terms "transference" and "countertransference" and their relationship with the formation of a psychotherapeutic relationship.

4. Factors determining the psychotherapeutic relationship - the characteristics of the patient (including the expectations of the patient toward the psychotherapy). Findings.

5. Factors determining the psychotherapeutic relationship - the experience of the patient during psychotherapy, including psychotherapeutic interventions. Findings.

6. The relations between determinants of psychotherapeutic relationship. (2) The characteristics of the patient and his experience in the course of psychotherapy (the goal of psychotherapy sessions, its duration, psychotherapeutic interventions). Findings.

7. Effectiveness of psychotherapy - a discussion of the concept, definition of efficiency; time of measuring the effectiveness, sources of information on the effectiveness

8. Categories of efficiency: the direct and deferred efficiency of psychotherapy - examples of research and their outcomes

9. The effectiveness of psychotherapy in the evaluation of the patient - examples of research and their outcomes.

10. The effectiveness of psychotherapy in the assessment of the therapist - examples of research and their outcomes.

11. Factors determining the effectiveness of psychotherapy - the characteristics of the patient, including the patient's expectations to psychotherapy.

12. Factors determining the effectiveness of psychotherapy - the experience of the patient during psychotherapy: the purpose of psychotherapy sessions, its duration, psychotherapeutic interventions

13. The relations between the factors determining the effectiveness of psychotherapy. Psychotherapeutic interventions and the relationship with the psychotherapist

14. Discussion of model "Characteristics of the patient, his experience in the course of psychotherapy and its effectiveness" - based on the project under the guidance of prof. dr. Lidia Grzesiuk, which describes the relationship between the effectiveness of psychotherapy and the factors that determine it.
