Short description:

Course Level: intermediate

Course Objectives:

The student knows and understands the changes occurring in the general literature within the valid period for the culture of the eighteenth century Europe. Acquires the ability to analyze and interpret the phenomena occurring in the broad context of literary art, music, and above all, the philosophy of that period.

Entrance requirements:

Basic knowledge of Polish and European literature of the Enlightenment (at second year of studies)

Course content:

Masterpieces of European literature of the eighteenth century. Transformation of poetic and dramatic forms. The birth of the novel. Development of para-literary forms. Essay.

Assessment methods:

(A detailed description of student assessment methods, within a given subject, including the form, duration, calendar - the length and frequency, and the dates for registration for examinations and exam sessions - different from the statutory. Sample forms of measurement/ assessment of student's work include: oral or written examinations, essays / essays, dissertations, papers.

Semester paper, oral examination.
