Short description: |
The course will be an analysis and interpretation of documentaries and feature films and other audiovisual artifacts that illustrate or problematize issues of intercultural and cultural identity. |
Full description: |
The object of the course is the analysis and interpretation of documentaries and feature films and other audio-visual artifacts that reflects issues of interculturalism and the cultural identity. How some specific historical, social or religious experience connected with a certain cultural circle or pattern can be transcribed in the filmic language and addressed to recipients outside of that circle? To what extent the film language depends on the cultural norm? What is motion picture universality? What is the cultural strangeness in the cinema? Does exist and how does manifest itself a cultural identity of a film industry of the specific geographical region or language? Does cinema participate in creating of a discourse of the cultural identity/ difference? What is marketing of the cultural image in cinema? How a cultural stereotype becomes an audiovisual product? Is the film industry and its institutions a tool of a cultural policy? What tells us amateur movies available on the internet about a cultural identity of contemporary Poles? These are the questions we try to answer in the first row approaching the effects of international film projects, as "Russia-Poland. New gaze "," Israel-Poland. New gaze", Ansichtssache "and documentaries and feature films from all over the world, and some audiovisual works distributed on the Internet. |
