Short description: |
Level: medium-advanced Aims: Learning of basic stoichiometric, thermodynamical and mass balance calculations. Skill in building technological schemes according to technological principles. Using chemical knowledge for realisation of technological processes (in multitonnage scale). This course consists of two parts: (1) basic calculations in chemical technology (student's attendence obligatory), and (2) selected industrial processes of organic technology. Preliminary requirements: credit in Fundamentals of chemical technology I (WM-NS-323) |
Full description: |
Recognition of technological schemes. Basic calculations in chemical technology (mass and heat balances). Examples of technological calculations: - Gasification of solid fuels, - Lime burning, - Installation of ammonia synthesis, - Production of SO3, - Absorption towers (scrubbers) in production of concentrated sulfuric acid and oleum, - Production of benzenosulfonic acid, - Mass balance in production of phosphoric acid, - Production of carbon disulfide, - Production of chloromethane. Production of methanol, ethylene oxide, vinyl chloride, cyclohexane. |
