Short description:

The subject of the lecture is the presentation of basic issues related to electronic banking. The aim of the course is to learn the legal and technological foundations of various forms of electronic banking, as well as the legal situation of entities using it.

Full description:

The lecture covers the following topics:

1) Electronic banking and its types. Concepts and essence. Development history.

2) Information society - genesis, assumption and reasons for development

3) The single market for EU financial services

4) Electronic payment instruments - importance for internet banking, general characteristics

5) Payment services performed thanks to electronic payment instruments, legal structure of payment using electronic payment instrument

6) The essence and legal nature of electronic banking services

7-8) Blockchain, smart contracts and IoT in banking

9) Security of internet banking and mobile banking, ia. biometric identification of bank clients

10) The future of electronic banking.

Educational outcomes

BwGC_W08: The student knows the phenomena related to the risks associated with the use of electronic banking services and the methods of their

identification. The student is able to define issues related to threats when using electronic banking services in the legal and non-legal context.

BwGC_W09: The student knows the issues related to electronic payment instruments. Has knowledge of the evolution of electronic banking.

Description of ECTS

Participation in the lecture (MS Teams), activity on the e-learning platform (Moodle Platform): 30 hours.

Independent analysis of source materials: 25 hours

Preparation for the exam: 40 hours

Consultation: 5 hours

Total hours: 100 hours

Number of ECTS: 100 hours / 25 = 4 ECTS

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

For 2:

BwGC_W08: The student does not know the phenomena related to the risks associated with the use of electronic banking services and is not able to indicate methods of their identification. The student is not able to define issues related to threats when using electronic banking services in a legal and non-legal context.

BwGC_W09: The student does not know the issues related to electronic payment instruments. The student has no knowledge of the evolution of electronic banking.

For 3 / 3.5:

BwGC_W08: The student has a basic knowledge of the phenomena related to the risks associated with the use of electronic banking services and is able to indicate a few methods of their identification. The student defines basic issues related to threats when using electronic banking services in the legal and non-legal context.

BwGC_W09: The student has a basic knowledge of the issues related to electronic payment instruments. The student has a basic knowledge of the evolution of electronic banking.

For 4 / 4.5:

BwGC_W08: The student has in-depth knowledge of the phenomena related to the risks associated with the use of electronic banking services and is able to indicate most of the methods of their identification. The student satisfactorily defines the issues related to threats when using electronic banking services in the legal and non-legal context.

BwGC_W09: The student has in-depth knowledge of issues related to electronic payment instruments. The student has in-depth knowledge of the evolution of electronic banking.

For 5:

BwGC_W08: The student has knowledge of the phenomena related to the risks associated with the use of electronic banking services and is able to freely indicate methods of their identification. The student very well defines the issues related to the threats when using electronic banking services in the legal and non-legal context.

BwGC_W09: The student has knowledge of the issues related to electronic payment instruments. The student has knowledge of the evolution of electronic banking.

Przedmiotem wykładu jest prezentacja podstawowych zagadnień związanych z bankowością elektroniczną. Celem zajęć jest poznanie prawnych i technologicznych podstaw funkcjonowania różnych form bankowości elektronicznej, a także sytuacji prawnej podmiotów z niej korzystających.
