The aim of te course is to provide an understanding of the general principles of international commercial arbitration, the process and procedure. Detailed topics to be covered: 1. Introduction: mechanism, origin, civil society manifestation, features, uniformisation at international level- NY Convention and Uncitral Model law, arbitration institutions; 2. Arbitration Agreement: form and its evolution, content, possible variants and mistakes; 3. Arbitrators: independence and impartiality, IBA Guidelines, appointment and dismissal; 4. Arbitrability; general rules, corporate disputes, employment disputes, torts; 5. Arbitral procedure: competenz- competenz, mechanisms securing predictability and flexibility, confidentiality, interim measures, 6. Setting aside arbitral awards: procedures and cases; 7. The quiet Triumph – SCC movie show and discussion. |

Efekty kształcenia i opis ECTS: |
Student has knowledge and practical skills to understand the principles of arbitration. Student knows specialized terminology, phrases and expressions related to arbitration. Student knows legal framework, good practices and procedure in international arbitration. Student knows and is able to define the legal instruments related to arbitration. |
