Short description: |
The seminar covers selected issues related to humanitarian aid, with a particular emphasis on the legal aspects of humanitarian aid. The covered issues include: basic concepts related to humanitarian aid, its assumptions, goals and principles; basic information on the current humanitarian situation in the world and directions and challenges for humanitarian aid; international and national legal standards applicable in the area of humanitarian aid; the typology and activities of public and private sector donors (UN, EU, ICRC, States and NGOs). |

LO 1: The student knows the basic concepts related to humanitarian aid, its assumptions, goals and principles, and presents his/her knowledge in this respect in English (in writing and orally) using the correct English terminology LO 2: The student presents in English (in writing and orally) legal standards applicable in the field of humanitarian aid, taking into account their specificity and content LO 3: The student analyzes the sources of humanitarian aid available in English, draws conclusions on the basis of the analysis and correctly summarizes the sources LO 4: The student describes in English (in writing and orally) the current humanitarian situation in the world (including main humanitarian crises) and directions and challenges for humanitarian aid LO 5: Using English, the student indicates donors of humanitarian aid and presents their specificity and describes their activities ECTS description Participation in the seminar: 15 h Reading and analysis of recommended sources: 40 h Preparation of the paper/presentation: 30 h Preparation for the test: 15 h Total no. of hours: 100 h Number of ECTS: 100h / 25 = 4 ECTS 4 ECTS |
