Short description:

The subject of Polish Foreign Policy is to enable the student to obtain knowledge about the basic constitutional principles of the system, the legal framework (constitutional, statutory and sub-statutory) of conducting Polish foreign policy, organization of foreign service, basic directions of Polish foreign policy, including foreign economic, historical and cultural policy.

1. Historical introduction: Traditions of Polish foreign policy; Establishing the borders of the Second Polish Republic and the Third Polish Republic; Historical view

2. Regaining sovereignty as a result of the end of the Cold War struggle; Poland on the way to NATO and the EU and joining these organizations.

3. Constitutional system principles

4. The constitutional framework of Polish foreign policy; The Council of Ministers and the President

5. The constitutional framework of Polish foreign policy; Sejm and Senate;

6. The constitutional framework of Polish foreign policy; Constitutional Tribunal and courts

Efekty kształcenia i opis ECTS:

After completing the modus, the student is able to:

EKW_01 explain the basic terms and assumptions concerning Polish foreign policy and analyze them; present the most important elements of Polish foreign policy in historical terms and make a critical analysis of them

EKW_02 define the goals, instruments and legal bases for conducting Polish foreign policy

EKW_03 list, characterize and critically analyze the tasks within the scope of activities undertaken as part of Polish foreign policy; indicate the tasks of Polish foreign policy towards international organizations and in the field of multilateral and bilateral relations

EKU-01 - can work in a team,

EKU-02 is able to publicly present its assessment of Polish foreign policy (opportunities and threats)

EKU-03- can prove the correctness of the thesis in a dispute with other students

EKK-01- can present selected thesis related to PPZ

EKK-2- can critically evaluate a given thesis related to PPZ

EKK-3 - can present the effects of the assumptions made within the PPZ

Method of conducted exercises: a method of discussion, solving scientific and practical problems in terms of the effects of knowledge, skills and competences.

Przedmiot Polska Polityka Zagraniczna ma umożliwić studentowi uzyskanie wiedzy o podstawowych konstytucyjnych zasadach ustrojowych, o ramach prawnych (konstytucyjnych i ustawowych oraz podustawowych) prowadzenia polskiej polityki zagranicznej, organizacja służby zagranicznej, podstawowych kierunkach polskiej polityki zagranicznej, w tym zagranicznej polityki gospodarczej, historycznej i kulturalnej.
