Short description:

The subject of Polish Foreign Policy is to enable the student to obtain knowledge about the basic constitutional principles of the system, about the legal framework (constitutional, statutory and sub-statutory) of conducting Polish foreign policy, organization of foreign service, basic directions of Polish foreign policy, including foreign economic, historical and cultural policy.

1. Historical introduction: Traditions of Polish foreign policy; Establishing the borders of the Second Polish Republic and the Third Polish Republic; Historical view

2. Regaining sovereignty as a result of the end of the Cold War struggle; Poland on the way to NATO and the EU.

3. Constitutional principles of the system

4. The constitutional framework of Polish foreign policy; The Council of Ministers and the President

5. The constitutional framework of Polish foreign policy; Sejm and Senate;

6. The constitutional framework of Polish foreign policy; Constitutional Tribunal and courts

7. Foreign service

8. Public diplomacy, economic diplomacy, cultural and historical diplomacy

- for the grade 3 (sufficient): the student at the basic level lists and describes the contemporary conditions of Polish foreign policy, the legal framework (constitutional, statutory, sub-statutory) of Polish foreign policy, the strategy of Polish foreign policy, its priorities, the current state of bilateral and multilateral Polish relations with abroad;

- with a grade 4 (db.): the student at a good level lists and describes the contemporary conditions of Polish foreign policy, the legal framework (constitutional, statutory, sub-statutory) of Polish foreign policy, the strategy of Polish foreign policy, its priorities, the current state of bilateral and multilateral Polish relations with abroad
