| Short description: |
The course aims to familiarize with the roles performed by the Europe in the modern international relations. The forms of European activity on the global stage will be presented. These considerations will be complemented with a theoretical basis of the existing approaches and paradigms to study of the Europe in the international relations. It's especially: the concept of civilian power, normative power and soft power. The analysis will be taking into account the treaty foundations and tools of the Union's presence in the global arena. It is especially about issues related to the Treaty of Lisbon: the EU legal personality, the new institutions in external policy and decision-making in this area. |

Course will be divided into the following thematic sections: 1. The history of the concept of "Europe" and the analysis of the geopolitical conditions of the European project 2. Nature of the institutions of European integration 3. The economic, political and cultural potential of Europe in the international relations 4. Concepts of the superpower in the International Relations 5. Theoretical approach of the Europe's position in the world: civilian power, normative power and soft power 6. The European Union in the international order after the Treaty of Lisbon 7. Directions of outside activity of the the European Union 8. Common Foreign and Security Policy and the European Union's external policy 9. The EU in its relations with other actors in international relations: Russian Federation, the United States, the ACP 10. The European Union: a specific example of international relations or international relations, an unusual actor? Teaching Methods: Course takes the form of lecture, during which the history and forms of the Europe’s presence in the international relations will be presented. Assessment methods: Written exam at the end of the semester. |

(zalicza 26 pkt) Pytania Opisowe 2 0-5 10 Testowe 20 0 lub 2 40 EK1– student potrafi wskazać na specyfikę, problemy (zarówno teoretyczne jak i praktyczne), jakie wiążą się z obecnością UE w stosunkach międzynarodowych. - na ocenę 2 (ndst): student nie potrafi wskazać na specyfikę, problemy (zarówno teoretyczne jak i praktyczne), jakie wiążą się z obecnością UE w stosunkach międzynarodowych. - na ocenę 3 (dst): student prawidłowo wskazuje na niektóre fragmenty na specyfiki, problemów (zarówno teoretycznych jak i praktycznych), jakie wiążą się z obecnością UE w stosunkach międzynarodowych; - na ocenę 4 (db): student prawidłowo wskazuje na specyfikę oraz problemy (zarówno teoretyczne jak i praktyczne), jakie wiążą się z obecnością UE w stosunkach międzynarodowych; - na ocenę 5 (bdb): student prawidłowo wskazuje na specyfikę oraz problemy (zarówno teoretyczne jak i praktyczne), jakie wiążą się z obecnością UE w stosunkach międzynarodowych oraz potrafi wskazać zależności między nimi. EK2 - Student potrafi analizować kierunki zewnętrznej aktywności Unii Europejskiej oraz skuteczność narzędzi i mechanizmów jej polityki zewnętrznej. - na ocenę 2 (ndst): student nie potrafi analizować kierunków zewnętrznej aktywności Unii Europejskiej oraz skuteczności narzędzi i mechanizmów jej polityki zewnętrznej. - na ocenę 3 (dst): student potrafi analizować tylko niektóre z kierunków zewnętrznej aktywności Unii Europejskiej oraz wskazywać na skuteczność niektórych narzędzi i mechanizmów jej polityki zewnętrznej. - na ocenę 4 (db): student potrafi poprawnie analizować kierunki zewnętrznej aktywności Unii Europejskiej oraz skuteczność narzędzi i mechanizmów jej polityki zewnętrznej. - na ocenę 5 (bdb): student potrafi poprawnie analizować kierunki zewnętrznej aktywności Unii Europejskiej oraz skuteczność narzędzi i mechanizmów jej polityki zewnętrznej a także potrafi wskazać zależności między nimi. EK3 - Student dąży do pogłębiania wiedzy w tym obszarze. - na ocenę 2 (ndst): student nie wykazuje zainteresowania poruszaną tematyką; - na ocenę 3 (dst): student pogłębia wiedzę tylko w odniesieniu do jednego aspektu zewnętrznej aktywności UE. - na ocenę 4 (db): student jest otwarty na pogłębianie wiedzy dotyczącej zewnętrznej aktywności UE. - na ocenę 5 (bdb): student dąży do pogłębiania wiedzy w tym obszarze i potrafi na jej podstawie argumentować swoje stanowisko. |
