Expected students abilities: Acquaintance with basic issues of international law. Acquaintance with basic conventions, in this especially with binding Poland conventions. Ability to relate theoretical issues to practice. Acquaintance with relations between international law and domestic law. Assumptions and aims (general): Introduction in subject matter of international law. Assumptions and aims (detailed): Acquaintance with principles and concepts of international law, acquintance with relations amongst public international law and domestic and basic regulations of international law, in this, binding Poland and ability to relate them to practice. |

Full course description. Detailed class programme: Subject matter of classes: total hours: 1. Introducing issues. 2. Public international law and other branches of law. 3. Legal personality in international law. 4. State and its attributes: Origin and collapse of States, State's territory, sovereingty, immunity, succession, diplomatic missions. 5. International organizations. 6. Individual's status in international law: citizenship, statelesses, forreigners, asylum seekers. 7. Human rights: regional (European) and universal solutions. 8. Prohibition of use of force in international law. Retorsions, reprisals, international sanctions. Peaceful settlement of disputes. 9. Humanitarian law: occupied territories status, veterans, refugees, prisoners-of-war, victims. |

Efekty kształcenia i opis ECTS: |
After the end of the module and the confirmation of attainment of the effects of training the student can: 1) explain the basic concepts of international law and the origin and nature of the sources of the law 2) describe the role of States and international organisations in shaping the normative bases 3) present place of international agreements in international trade and the principles of liability for their failure 4) explain the role of the administrative tasks undertaken in the field of international relations 5)specify the role of the individual and his rights in the light of international law, taking into account the specific situation of the 6) comment on the use of force, the armed conflict-the rules of their conduct and resolve, and also indicate the peaceful ways of dispute resolution International 7) submit issues involving legal regulations related to airspace in space and the law of the sea |
