The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the importance of psychological knowledge in human life. Therefore, the student is introduced to issues related to human behavior, including ways (processes) of thinking, feeling and acting. The classes discuss various approaches to understanding why people behave in a certain way (hence various schools of psychology). The aim of the subject is therefore to develop the ability to reflect on one's own behavior and the behavior of other people, as well as the ability to influence undesirable behavior. For this reason, the aim of the subject is also to raise awareness of the educational consequences of specific attitudes and ongoing development processes. The following specific topics are discussed: 1. introduction to general psychology 2. basic directions, approaches, schools in psychology 3. biological basics of psychology 4. perception, attention, conscioussness, memory 5. learning 6. emotions and motivation 7. personality 8. intelligence 9. psychical resilience 10. stress 11. human development 12. cultural psychology 13. social psychology 14. psychotherapy 15. summary |

Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
Assessment of knowledge: 2 - has no knowledge on the subject of general psychology research and basic research methods of the discipline; 3 - has knowledge on the subject of general psychology, but does not have the correct knowledge about the detailed specifics of specific mental processes; 4 - have correct knowledge about specific mental processes; understand their individuality; 5 - they have a thorough knowledge of all mental processes and phenomena studied by general psychology. Assessment skills: assessment of the extent to which the student understands the problems of general psychology, can critically evaluate psychological research, formulate research questions. Assessment of competence: Assessment of cultural discussion, openness to different views of their position. mid-term test final exam test |

(in Polish) Celem przedmiotu jest zapoznanie studenta ze znaczeniem wiedzy psychologicznej w życiu człowieka. Dlatego student jest wprowadzany w zagadnienia związane z zachowaniem człowieka, w tym sposoby (procesy) myślenia, odczuwania i działania. Na zajęciach omawia się różne podejścia do rozumienia, dlaczego człowiek zachowuje się w określony sposób (stąd poznaje się różne szkoły psychologiczne). Celem przedmiotu jest zatem wyrobienie zdolności do refleksji nad własnym zachowaniem oraz zachowaniem innych ludzi oraz możliwości wpływania na zachowania niepożądane. Z tego względu zadaniem przedmiotu jest też uwrażliwienie na konsekwencje wychowawczy ze i edukacyjne określonych postaw oraz zachodzących procesów rozwojowych. |
