Level: Basic - Introductory. Aims: Lecture is an introduction to the prophetic literature of the Old Testament. It focuses on explanation of each prophetic book of the Old Testament within its contexts: historical, literary and theological. Preliminary requirements: familiarity with the text of the prophetic books of the Old Testament; basic knowledge of chronology of the ancient Israel. |

The merits: During the first semester we will discuss the following topics: Introductory themes: 1. The prophetic literature in Hebrew and Greek canon of the OT. 2. The prophets of the ancient Israel and the prophetism in biblical (= Near-eastern) world. 3. Notion, development and chronology of biblical prophetism. 4. The historical context of the Assyrian period. The prophets of the Assyrian period: 5. The Book of Amos. 6. The Book of Hosea. 7. The Book of Isaiah: Proto-Isaiah (Is 1-39) - part I. 8. The Book of Isaiah: Proto-Isaiah (Is 1-39) - part II. 9. The Book of Micah. 10. The Book of Zephaniah. 11. The Book of Jonah. 12. The Book of Nahum 13. The Book of Habakkuk. 14. The Book of Jeremiah - the prophet of the transitional period (brief introduction) 15. The forming and development of the prophetic literature in the Bible. The lectures will continue in the second semester; it will discuss the following topics: The prophets of the Babylonian period: 1. The Book of Jeremiah. Lamentations. 2. The Book of Ezekiel. 3. The Book of Obadiah. 4. The Book of Isaiah: Deutero-Isaiah (Is 40-55). The Servant Songs. 5. The Book of Isaiah: Trito-Isaiah (Is 56-66). The prophets of the Persian period: 5. The Book of Haggai. 6. The Book of Zechariah: Proto-Zechariah (Za 1-8) and Deutero-Zechariah (Za 9-14). 7. The Book of Joel. 8. The Book of Malachi. The prophets of the Hellenistic period: 10. The Book of Daniel - part I. Introduction to the Apocalyptic literature. 11. The Book of Daniel - part II 12. The forming and development of the prophetic literature in the Bible. 13. Prophetic books in Qumran literature. 14. Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
(in Polish) Warunkiem zaliczenia przedmiotu jest obecność na wykładach (!!) i osiągnięcie wszystkich założonych efektów kształcenia. Metoda weryfikacji efektów kształcenia: kolokwium z treści omawianych ksiąg w trakcie trwania semestru (pierwszego i drugiego) oraz egzamin końcowy (przeprowadzany w formie ustnej na koniec semestru). O ocenie pozytywnej z przedmiotu decyduje wynik zaliczenia kolokwium z treści omawianych ksiąg oraz wynik egzaminu końcowego (w formie ustnej), przy czym ocena z kolokwium z treści to 30% całości oceny, a ocena z egzaminu to 70% całości oceny. KOLOKWIUM Z TREŚCI: Kolokwium z treści ksiąg w danym semestrze odbywa się w formie pisemnego sprawdzianu, który polega na rozpoznaniu cytatów z poszczególnych ksiąg (omawianych w danym semestrze). Kolokwium to podlega ocenie według następującego sposobu podliczania punktacji: 0-59% - NDST (2) 60-66% - DST (3) 67-76% - DST+ (3+) 77-86% - DB (4) 87-94% - DB+ (4+) 95-100% - BDB (5). EGZAMIN: NDST (2): student nie zna treści materiału wchodzącego w zakres tematyczny wykładu, nie zna poszczególnych ksiąg prorockich ST, w ich kontekście historycznym, literackim i teologicznym. Nie ma wiedzy na temat treści i charakteru poszczególnych ksiąg tego zbioru. DST (3): student w niewielkim stopniu zna treść materiału wchodzącego w zakres tematyczny wykładu, słabo zna poszczególne księgi prorockie ST, w ich kontekście historycznym, literackim i teologicznym. W niewielkim stopniu ma wiedzę na temat treści i charakteru poszczególnych ksiąg tego zbioru. DB (4): student dobrze zna treść materiału wchodzącego w zakres tematyczny wykładu, dobrze zna poszczególne księgi prorockie ST, w ich kontekście historycznym, literackim i teologicznym. Ma dobrą wiedzę na temat treści i charakteru poszczególnych ksiąg tego zbioru. BDB (5): student szczegółowo zna treść materiału wchodzącego w zakres tematyczny wykładu, bardzo dobrze zna poszczególne księgi prorockie ST, w ich kontekście historycznym, literackim i teologicznym. Ma szeroką wiedzę na temat treści i charakteru poszczególnych ksiąg tego zbioru. |
