Course contents:

1) The inner life of the early Church

a) organization of the early Church

b) the daily lives of early Christian communities

c) the material culture of the early Christians

2) Relations with the Roman state and non-Christian world

a) the Christians' attitude to the non-Christian state and society

b) the perception of Christians by the non-Christian world

c) persecution of Christians

d) expansion of Christianity

3) Changes in organizational and territorial Church in the Middle Ages

a) the spread of Christianity after the fall of the Roman Empire

b) changes in the organization of the Church

c) the Eastern Schism

d) the Crusade wars

4) The Church in the medieval society

a) the development of monastic life

b) culture and science

c) economic life

5) Relations between the Church and state authorities in the Middle Ages

Moreover, since the second meeting the topic on "Solving the problems of the Church by the councils" in the form of short presentations.

Assessment methods:

The attendance, activity evaluation in class (participation in discussions) and the degree of preparation for classes and speeches.
