Course level: intermediate. Objectives of the course: to present that all Christian denominations have the common divine source, and there are much more things in common than dividing them. All are connected with the person of Christ, the Messiah, Redeemer and the Incarnate God. Prerequisites: The student is aware that all Christian denominations come from Christ and based on the Old and New Testaments. |

Course contents: the notion of ecumenism and its scope; the genesis of ecumenism, the World Council of Churches; contribution to the ecumenism of the Protestant world; the contribution of the Catholic Church to the ecumenical movement, Roman Catholic precursors; ecumenical work of the Second Vatican Council; ecumenical directorate of the Roman Dicastery; popes' contribution to ecumenism: John XXIII, Paul VI and John Paul II; review of non-Catholic denominations in Poland; Eastern Christian Churches: pre-Chalcedon and Orthodox Churches; sophean theology.
