ASSUMPTIONS AND OBJECTIVES

The interpenetration of beliefs, cultures and religious systems resulted in an intensive development of religious studies in the twentieth century. The richness of religious beliefs became the subject of thorough scientific research which sought to determine the religious sources of a man, to define religious phenomenon and to establish specificity of particular religious systems of the world.

The aim of the lecture is to present various religious disciplines, the methods they use and the results of their research. At the same time, it allows to make a systematization of the existing definitions of religion and point out the constitutive elements of the religious phenomenon.
