Level of difficulty: Moderately advanced Objectives: To present the process of the development of the Trinity of God (God the Father, the Holy Ghost and Holy Son) and to examine dogmatic references of the process in order to better understand the fundamentals of faith of today's Church. Basic requirements: Student understands the idea of God's omnipotence, understands the idea of the Holy Ghost; is able to list characteristics of the omnipotent God, understands the values of conscience; understands values of Christ's sacrifice, understands the idea of Resurrection; is able to fully comprehend the idea that the redemption offered by Christ comes from the Holy Trinity. |

Preparation to the Holy Trinity revelation: - analysis of preparation to the revelation of the Trinity; - God's revelations in the Old Testament; - God's revelations outside the Bible; Holy Trinity revelations in the New Testament: - Christ proclamation on God; - the teaching of the Original Church; - the Holy Ghost in the gospel of St. John; - forms and content of Trinity texts in the New Testament; Formation of the Dogma of the Trinity in the early days of Christianity; - origins of the Dogma and processes influencing it; - first analytical attempts by the Apologists; Formation of the Dogma of the Trinity in heretic discussions and the theological path towards Councils of Nicaea and Constantinople: - anti-Trinity heresies; - decisions of largest Council meetings; Magisterium's explanation of the Dogma: - development of Dogmatic formulas; - refining of Western Christianity through the idea of Filioque; - coexistence of God's Son with His Father; - divinity of the Holy Ghost; Origin of the persons of the Trinity Relations in God Persons in God Mission of Divine Persons Evaluation methods: Oral exam |

Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
1) Learning outcomes -1: students will be able to competently apply the terminology and understand issues of trinitology; Grading policy for this assignment: 2 (unsatisfactory) for unacceptably low knowledge of basic terms and systematization; 3 (satisfactory) for correctly using basic terms and presenting essential trinitological issues in a historical perspective; 4 (good) for a good understanding of dogmats, their historical context and development; 5 (very good) for the use of acquired historical knowledge and concepts in the evaluation of modern interpretations. 2) Learning outcomes -2: students will be able to present and discuss their research results; Grading policy for this assignment: 2 (unsatisfactory) for the inability to present research results in even the simplest way; 3 (satisfactory) for correctly using basic terms of trinitology; |
