| Preliminary Requirements: | Knowledge of the content of the Old and New Testament and basic theological concepts in the field of theology and Mariology. |
| Short description: |
The classes will consist of an exegetical discussion of biblical texts containing Mariological themes. In the case of the books of the Old Testament, after answering the question "Can we talk about OT Mariology?" Old Testament prophetic announcements, topoi and figures will be discussed, in which Mariological content can be found metaphorically. In the case of the New Testament, pericopes in which the figure of Mary appears - sometimes also in a veiled manner - will be analyzed. |

The following topics will be discussed in the lectures: 1. Old Testament prophecies in which the Messiah is announced and His Mother is mentioned. 2. Old Testament Marian figures and symbols. 3. Mary in the Gospel according to St. Matthew. 4. Mary in the Gospel according to St. Mark. 5. Mary in the Gospel according to St. Luke. 6. Mary in the Gospel according to St. John. 7. Mary in the Apocalypse of St. John. 8. Mariological premises in other books of the NT. |

LE no. 1: The listener has knowledge about the possibilities of Mariological interpretation of the Bible. LE no. 2: Has the ability to independently interpret biblical texts and in the Mariological aspect and expand their interdisciplinary competences. LE No. 3: Looks for scientific inspiration in various areas of theological knowledge and sees the need for an interdisciplinary approach to his field. |
| Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
Written paper (3 pages) on a given topic and an oral final examination. The final assessment will be their result. |
