The context of religion and pagan culture, where Christian art originated.

The origin and development of early Christian art (architecture, early Christian sarcophagi, catacomb paintings, mosaics).

The question of icons.

Brief analysis of the development of ecclesiastical art in Byzantium, Middle Ages and modern times.

Problems of contemporary ecclesiastical art.
