objectives of the course:

The aim of the course is to help students gain basic knowledge of the subject in question as well as to enrich methodical apparatus necessary to convey the knowledge in a clear and scientific way. The course’s aim is also to enrich student’s knowledge by the work on particular topics. The seminar is also to identify and/or discuss topics (related to morality) important to contemporary culture.

Knowledge of the basic rules of ethics and moral theology. General knowledge of binding law.

The particular interest of the seminar in the 9th semester is mainly connected with the field of bioethics, which is very important nowadays. The list of suggested topics is as follows:

1.The problem of ”in vitro” fertilisation.

2.Contraception in marriage vs. natural family planning.

3.Eugenics- improving human species.

4.Early abortive treatment.

5.Mechanical abortion.

6.Manipulation on the adults: plastic surgery and sterilisation improving human body.

7.Experimenting on people: medical experiments.

8.Suicide nowadays.

9.Capital punishment. Ethics, law and Gospel.

10.Organ transplant.

11.Genetic engineering. Cloning.

12.Genetic modifications on plants and animals.

13.Boundaries of death.

14.Eutanasia.

15.Dangers to the conceived life.
