objectives of the course:

The objective of the course is to make students understand the redeeming role of the Church, its objects, functions, structures and conditions of its actions in modern world. This understanding is achieved through scientific analysis of divine Revelation and the teaching of the Church and through theological and pastoral analysis of reality considering the findings of such sciences as: sociology, pedagogy, psychology, anthropology etc. – reality in which the Church currently performs its redeeming mission.

prerequisites:

Knowledge of the problems contained in Pastoral Theology.

course contents:

The essential components of the course are the questions related to:

a. The parish: origin, development, parish in the light of II Vatican Council, parish as a community of faith, functions of a parish, the need to reform the parish

b. Diaconate

c. Local church i.e. diocese

d. Ordinary priesthood (service of teaching, sanctification, charity)

e. Extraordinary priesthood (special, specialized)

f. New evangelisation (significance, ways to accomplish that)

assessment methods:

Students are evaluated on the basis of oral exam at the end of semester and their performance in administering their pastoral services. One exam takes about 15 minutes. Exams are held during the exam session.
