Short description:

Level: Elementary.

Aims: Lectureship aims at acquire reading and writing skills in Greek (classical and biblical Greek), mainly with the possibility of self-translation of terms and the Greek texts with understanding the basic principles of grammar and a particular set of vocabulary (so that the Greek language and culture are not alien, but became friendly and helpful in studying philosophy and theology, especially biblical).

Demand: Preliminary knowledge of Latin. Accomplished first year of theological studies.

Full description:

Issues phonetic, Greek alphabet, accents, punctuation, reading - exercises, writing - exercises; declinations I, II and III, specimens of the variety and exercises; conjugations I and II, the variation of the verb, present tense, imperfect, aorist, time future, infinitive and imperative; Greek adjectives and their variety, pronouns, syntax elements of Greek, Greek translations of texts, memorization of vocabulary assimilation of Greek, Greek prayer, reading and translating passages of the Bible from Greek.

Grading in the winter and summer sessions. The evaluation takes into account the results of written symposia and oral responses during the course of the semester.

Efekty kształcenia i opis ECTS:

The aim is to acquire students' reading and writing skills in Greek (Classical Greek), mainly with the possibility of self-translation of terms, the ruling and the Greek texts with understanding the basic principles of grammar and a particular set of vocabulary (so that the Greek language and heritage, which brings together were not alien, but became friendly and helpful people of today have the knowledge and culture as well as conducting independent research work). In addition to matters strictly grammar, vocabulary, and the operative part, students are also acquainted with the texts of selected prayers from the profiles of some ancient Greek poets and writers, and some events of mythology and history of ancient Greece.
