  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;

  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

Type and level of the course: Obligatory course for the students of the second year of studies at the Seminary of the diocese of Łomża.

Purposes of the course: To provide the students with basic knowledge about Psychology of Religion.

Prerequisites: Knowledge of basic notions of the Psychology and Religion. Basic knowledge of the history of religious experiences of Humanity.

Full description:

Contents of the course:

1. Classification of the sciences concerning religion.

2. Methods of describing and explaining religion: its aims and role for the human life.

3. Genesis and nature of religion: Phenomenological, Evolutionary, Behavioral and Analytical theories.

4. Main expressions of religious life of the human being: prayer and sacrifice.

5. Phenomenological description of the individual religious experience.

6. Stages of the religious development of man: childhood, youth, adult.

Evaluation methods: Oral exam at the end of each teaching period. Duration of the examination - about 15 minutes.
