Short description:

Type and level of the course: Obligatory subject for the students of the IIIrd year of studies in Seminary in Łomża.

Purposes of the course: To gain a sound grounding of the theological aspects of morality; to learn and understand the principles of morality and their application in and to the different situations of life, to focus the students on the dynamic aspect of Christian morality and on the answer, which a human being should give to the call of God in the process of his formation to love.

Full description:

Contents of the course: The nature of moral theology; man as an addressee of the Christian call; normative character of God’s call; recognition and acceptance of the binding nature of the Christian call; the realization of the Christian call in human acts; the engagement in the Christian call through a virtuous life; the rejection of God’s call – sin; sin from the perspective of overcoming sin.

Evaluation methodes: Oral examination during winter and summer session. At the end of lectures students receive questions to guide their preparation. During the exam a student receives one of the questions to be presented. The fi-nal mark contains two written assignments during each of the semesters and verification of knowledge during the oral exam. Exam duration – about twenty minutes.
