Short description:

Level of course: basic.

Objectives of course: The acquirement of the knowledge about basic concepts of ecumenical theology and of the ecumenical movement. The sensibilisation to the importance of the aim for Christian unity.

Prerequisites: Students are supposed to know the basic concepts of theology and the main events of Church history.

Course contents:

The name and kinds of ecumenism; Catholic rules of ecumenism; the panorama of Christian Churches and Communities; the history of the ecumenical movement; World Council of Churches; ecumenism in Poland; forms of the spiritual and practical ecumenism, successes of ecumenical dialogues; chosen problems (eg. mixed marriages).

Assessment methods:

The written in the form of the test and oral examination.
