Basic

Student knows what is a homily and what is its role in Church pastoral activity. Student knows a short history of a homily and what are the elements of a homily contents that are necessary conditions for homily preaching. Students will be familiar with basic models of homily preaching and will know the method of weekly working upon homily.

The esence and origin of homily.The short history of homily.To point out the priviliged place of a homily among other kinds of preaching the word of God.The homily material: witnessing, Holy Scripture, liturgy, Church teaching, culture.Basic content of a homily: existence, kerygma, didascalia, liturgy and paracliza.Functions of homily: kerygmatic, anamnetic, litiurgical and mistagogical. The process of creating a homily.
