Course targets:

Presentation of individual issues with active participation of students, their involvement in the preparation of a presentation or a written assignment, article, or essay. (15 hours in a semester, 1 hour per week)

Course content:

1. Biblical foundations of sacramentology

2. The formation of sacramentology

3. Christ as Presacrament

4. The Church as Sacrament (seven sacraments of the Church)

5. An attempt to define sacraments (terms, elements of definitions)

6. Institution of sacraments by Christ

7. Grace and the sacramental character and “revival” of sacraments

8. Fulfillment of the Church in sacraments and sacramentalia

9. Baptism as a gate to new life

10. Confirmation as a sacrament of Christian maturity

11. Theological understanding of the sacrament of Penance

12. The sacrament of Holy Anointing

13. The essence and effects of the Holy Orders

14. Mission of the hierarchy according to the degree of orders

15. The sacrament of Holy Matrimony and Family

16. The saving presence of Christ in the Eucharist

17. Eucharistic epiclesis

18. The Holy Mass as a sacrifice and paschal feast

19. The Church as a Eucharistic gathering

Umiejętność analizy dokumentów Kościoła, doboru literatury do krótkich opracowań tematycznych, krytyczne ustosunkowanie się do prezentowanych poglądów oraz wykorzystania wcześniej zdobytej wiedzy w aktualnie prowadzonej dyskusji.
