Course level: basic Course targets: The lecture concerns the truth dealing with fundamental ecclesiology. The objective of the course is to arouse students’ sensitivity to the encounter with Christ in the Church, and to signs of its authenticity, as well as to the role and tasks of the Teaching Office of the Church, together with its infallibility (especially papal infallibility), primacy and Peter’s legacy. The course will also depict a contemporary context of the Church’s faith and its relation to democracy, economy, and culture. Entrance requirements: Knowledge of basic issues in theology, drawn up within “Introduction”. |

Course content: 1. Explanation of notions and utilized methods 2. The contemporary context of the Church faith 3. Christ’s origins of the Church 4. The Twelve: Foundation of the Church’s structure 5. Apostolic legacy 6. Signs of the authenticity of the Church 7. Understanding, recognizing and functions of miracles in the life of the Church 8. Affiliation and assigning them to the Church of Christ 9. Salvation in the Church and through the Church 10. Justification of the Catholic teaching of the papal primacy 11. Collegiality authority in the Church and its consequences 12. Attributes of papal authority 13. Description and forms of the infallibility of the Church’s Magisterium 14. Papal infallibility (Vaticanum I) 15. The Church and democracy, economy and culture |

Modele uzasadniania wiarygodności Kościoła i znaki jego autentyczności (przegląd modeli uzasadniania wiarygodności Kościoła; znaki Kościoła Chrystusowego w ujęciu współczesnej teologii) 2. Chrystusowe korzenie Kościoła (problematyka Chrystusowej genezy Kościoła w świetle wypowiedzi Magisterium; ujęcie teologicznofundamentalne; pogłębienie historyczne) 3. Dwunastu – fundament struktury Kościoła i sukcesji apostolskiej (apostolat – kolegium biskupów – podstawowy element struktury Kościoła; ustanowienie Dwunastu; posłannictwo Dwunastu; Chrystusowa geneza i pierwotny rozwój sukcesji apostolskiej) 4. Prymat jako fundament struktury Kościoła i sukcesji Piotrowej (rozumienie prymatu papieskiego; miejsce św. Piotra w świetle przekazów Nowego Testamentu; posłannictwo św. Piotra; określenie i podstawy sukcesji apostolskiej; racje prymatu rzymskiego; najwcześniejsze świadectwa sukcesji rzymskiej i odnoszenia prymatu do Rzymu; samoświadomość prymacjalna Kościoła rzymskiego) 5.
