Course level:Basic Course targets: The lecture concerns the truth dealing with fundamental Christology. The effect of education is to arouse students’ sensitivity to the problem of Christian revelation, the mystery of Jesus Christ; God-Man, and especially evidence for His historicity, awareness of God’s sonship, Divine mission, Passion, death and resurrection which is the beginning of new consciousness and saving power in human culture Entrance requirements: Knowledge of basic issues in theology, drawn up within “Introduction”. |

Course content: 1.The outline of history of fundamental Theology 2.The attempt at defining fundamental Christology 3. Divine revelation and its economy 4. Cognizability of revelation and its credibility 5. Hypotheses concerning Jesus of Nazareth 6. Credibility of nonchristian sources about Jesus 7. Archeological discoveries and excavations concerning Jesus 8. Primitive Christian testimonies: Gospels, apocrypha 9. Jesus as a herald of the kingdom of God 10. Jesus’ miracles as signs and deeds 11. Historical credibility and the place of the cross and death in Jesus self-defining 12. Sources and relations of faith in Jesus’ resurrection 13. Elements of paschal Christology: Christ, Son of God, Lord 14.The belief in reincarnation and the belief in resurrection Assessment methods: Oral examinations |
