The lecture aims to present the main theological themes developed in Africa and America. Attention will first be given to ancient theologies developed in Africa (patristic times). We will then turn our attention to the problems of European theology of the time of the first modern missions (16th-19th centuries) presented in the African and American context. The last and most extensive part of the class will be dedicated to contemporary attempts to develop theological thought in Africa and Latin America, as well as the theological work of the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) and Latin America (CELAM).
