Efekty uczenia się:

1. Wiedza: EK1 - student rozumie i wyjaśnia zależności między ekologią, zachowaniem zwierząt a możliwościami i sposobami ochrony ptaków; EK2 - Student rozpoznaje podstawowe pojęcia w języku obcym z zakresu ekologii, zachowania i ochrony gatunkowej

2. Umiejętności: EK3 - student wykonuje i opisuje proste zadania EK4 – student posługuje się terminologią specjalistyczną z zakresu ekologii, behawioru i ochrony zwierząt (w języku angielskim) EK5 – student przygotowuje proste raporty na podstawie zebranych danych EK6 – student potrafi przygotowywać prezentacje ustne za pomocą różnych środków komunikacji werbalnej i wizualnej

3. Kompetencje: EK7 - Poprawia swoje umiejętności zawodowe w terenie; dba o rzetelność i wiarygodność swojej pracy EK8 - Student poprzez zajęcia terenowe oraz przygotowanie prezentacji multimedialnej i dyskusji rozpoznaje mocne i słabe strony swoich umiejętności, postaw i działań

Metody i kryteria oceniania:

Students are required to complete the multimedia presentation of the article related to the topic (30 min). The evaluation will assess (a) the ability to work in a group, (b) form, content and the way of presentation and (c) the ability to find suitable material for presentation

Absence from classes will reduce final assessment. Further detailed assessment criteria will be given to participants during the course.

1. Organizacja zajęć. Czym się zajmuje ekologia lęgowa ptaków. Podstawowe pojęcia z ekologii i behawioru ptaków. Zagadnienia ochrony ptaków.

2. Metody pracy terenowej z ptakami – kwestie etyczne i prawne, bezpieczeństwo w terenie

3. Liczenia ptaków – dlaczego liczymy ptaki?

4. Biologia i ekologia ptaków lęgowych – metody badań terenowych

5. Dlaczego i jak łapiemy ptaki, obchodzenie się ze złapanym ptakiem?

6. Dlaczego obrączkujemy ptaki - metalowe obrączki i kolorowe opaski oraz inne metody indywidualnego znakowania

7. Dlaczego pobieramy krew, metody pobierania i przechowywania

8. Dieta i żerowanie – metody badań ekologii żerowiskowej

9. Selekcja siedliskowa i wybór siedlisk lęgowych – metody badań terenowych

10. Badania behawioralne ptaków – co możemy zaobserwować w terenie?

11. Zarządzanie ochroną zagrożonych ptaków

12. Zarządzanie siedliskiem

13. Życie w koloniach mew i rybitw

14. Czynna ochrona mew i rybitw na środkowej Wiśle – studium przypadku

15. Podsumowanie kursu

Metody dydaktyczne:

Description of the methods of teaching:

Informative lecture – presentation of the subject-matter, method of teaching and the demands and expectations of working on individual classes and preparing of the report. Clarification of the rules on planning, preparation and implementation of a multimedia presentation

Auditory lectures - supplementation, explaining, also specifying of the themes presented in the presentation

Individual reading of scientific texts - individual reading of scientific materials (books, magazines, Internet), necessary to prepare multimedia presentations on the topic drawn

Analysis of the content of the material - discussion, together with the students in the class on the content of the paper presented to explain the incomprehensible content and possible verification

Talk (discussion) - discussing of the presentation (form, range of topics and presentation), as well as the content. Discussing work in the field, the related ethical issues and threats.

Multimedia presentation - a presentation in PowerPoint or equivalent, drawn on the subject. In the case of individual presentations they should take no less than 20 minutes and not more than 30 min, in the case of the team presentation, they should not be less than 40 and not more than 50 min

A description of the verification of learning outcomes:

Thematic lecture / multimedia presentation on the drawn topic - verification of learning outcomes by the evaluation the quality of work done in preparing and delivering a lecture / presentation. The level of substantive content will be assessed, the way of presentation by a student and form, i.e. how presentation was prepared in PowerPoint

Individual assessment of preparation, activity and diligence during the course - the lack of conscientiousness (high number of absences) will decrease, and the activity during classes will increase scores of the subject
