Skrócony opis:

The aim of classes is to present up-to-date knowledge about psychosocial concepts related to the interventions with children in social protection systems: social representations of children, their social problems and the social interventions to solve their problems; children’s rights, violence against children and children as social agents; children in disadvantaged situations and social exclusion; child abuse and neglect; children at risk. Methodological clarifications will be pointed out between observations and risk indicators. An example of applied research on the Barcelona city community social services system intervention with children at risk will be presented. Additional research on child protection systems will also be presented, particularly on residential care, foster care and kinship foster care in Catalonia, and on young people leaving care (YIPPEE European research project).
