Assumptions: Environmental protection is one of the principal task of the state conditioning its proper economic and social development (sustainable development). In the legal dimension, they consist of international, EU and national law regulations. The following general issues will be discussed during the lecture: - place of environmental law in the legal system - sources of environmental law - principles of environmental law - the principle of sustainable development and other issues that allow you to move freely in the legal issues of environmental protection: - social participation in environmental protection - access to information about the environment - legal protection of environmental components - legal instruments for environmental protection - responsibility and judicial protection in environmental protection - management by the administration of environmental matters |

Educational outcomes: A. Knowledge 1. Uses the basic terminology, allowing a description of the legal system and knows the basic legal regulations regarding environmental protection 2. Has basic knowledge enabling the characterization of branches of environmental law, recognizes and defines the principles of environmental law 3. Identifies instruments of environmental law and institutional environment B. Skills 4. Interprets legal acts and draws correct conclusions based on them (Analyzes legal acts and uses sets of legal acts and searches for necessary acts, constructs simple legal norms on the basis of legal regulations) 5. Is able to assign legal instruments to a specific event, indicating the legal solution to the problem C. Competences 6. Is aware of the importance of legal norms for the implementation of environmental protection 7. Knowledge 1. does not use the basic terminology that allows the description of the legal system and does not know the basic legal regulations concerning environmental protection and nature protection 2. does not settle the basic knowledge enabling the characterization of branches of environmental law, does not recognize and does not define the rules of environmental law 3. does not identify the basic instruments of environmental law and the institutional environment B. Skills 4. He can not interpret legal acts and draw correct conclusions on their basis 5. He can not assign legal instruments to a specific event C. Competences 6. There is no awareness of the importance of legal norms for the implementation of environmental protection 7. He can not work individually and effectively cooperate in team work satisfactory grade: A. Knowledge 1. Correctly operates a few terms, enabling a description of the legal system and knows a few basic legal regulations regarding environmental protection and nature protection 2. Has basic knowledge enabling the characterization of branches of environmental law, recognizes and defines three principles of environmental law 3. Identifies three basic instruments of environmental law and can name three environmental protection authorities B. Skills 4.
