The course is focused on basic orientation in the contemporary aesthetic of nature and environment, based on three different but intertwined fields - current philosophical, scientific aesthetics of nature and visual art dealing with environment. It should analyze basic contemporary scientific approaches, supplemented by inspiration in other interdisciplinary fields and art. The course will also analyze stimuli and inspiration of contemporary aesthetics for protection of nature and environment and pro-environmental behavior. |

A. Environmental aesthetic 1. Introductory lecture - the roots of the aesthetics of nature (the development during 18th-19th centuries (Shaftesbury, Burke, Sulzer, Kant, Schiller) 2. The beginning of environmental aesthetic – Allen Carlson 3. - 5. Environmental aesthetics (Carlson, Berleant, Lintott, Rolston, Sapänmaa, Budd, Carroll, Saito etc.) 6.-7.
