Short description: |
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with basic knowledge about the impact of environmental pollution on human health. This knowledge covers basic issues related to human anatomy and physiology. The structure and functions of individual human systems and organs are discussed. The basic concepts related to air pollution factors, noise, magnetic field and surface water are introduced. The impact of air pollution, surface water, noise and magnetic field on the functioning and health of the human body is discussed. |

Topics covered: 1) Basic concepts of human anatomy and physiology. The structure and functions of individual systems, including: skin, skeletal, muscular, respiratory, circulatory, digestive, nervous and urogenital systems. 2) Stages of human development: prenatal, newborn, infant, post-infant, preschool, school, adolescence, adulthood and old age. 3) The impact of air pollution on human health - impact on individual systems and organs. 4) The impact of noise on human health - - impact on individual systems and organs. 5) The impact of the magnetic field on human health - impact on individual systems and organs. 6) The impact of surface water pollution on human health - impact on individual systems and organs. |

knowledge: 1. The student knows the structure and function of individual organs and systems of the human body. 2. The student knows the factors influencing environmental pollution. 3. The student knows the impact of harmful factors polluting the environment (noise, magnetic field, air pollutants, surface water) on organs and human health. Skills: 1. The student is able to describe the structure and function of individual human systems and organs. 2. The student is able to characterize the basic factors of environmental pollution. 3. The student is able to describe the impact of environmental pollution on the health and functioning of the human body. Competencies: 1. The student is aware of the impact of harmful environmental factors on human functioning and health. 2. The student is able to implement activities that can contribute to improving the quality of the environment and thus improve the quality of human life and health. |
