(tylko po angielsku) The aim of the lectures is to evaluate the main theories and approaches to studying child development. Several areas of development such as cognitive, emotional and social will be integrated to gather a holistic view of the human nature. The role of language, culture, and quality of interaction with others in children's life will be discussed. |

(tylko po angielsku) Topis overview: 1. Key theories in child development and their historical background. 2. Characteristics of cognitive, emotional, and social development. 3. Language acquisition in mono and bilingual children. 4. The role of family and peers in successful child development. 5. The nature and function of attachment. 6. Cross-cultural variations in childrearing practices. Assessment criteria includes: 1. Single choice test. 2. Lecture attendance. |

Efekty kształcenia i opis ECTS: |
(tylko po angielsku) Knowledge: Students are familiar with current theories and approaches in studying child development. They know the most common experiments and measurement methods in this field. Abilities: Students can integrate the discussed content. They are able to link the theories found in the literature with the current empirical findings. Competence: Students can independently review the theories and apply methods appropiate to the area of interest. ECTS description: In-class participation: 15 hours Class preparation: 20 hours Consultation: 5 hours Exam preparation: 20 hours Total hours: 60 ECTS points: 60 hours/15 = 4 |
