Short description:

The aim of this course is to learn about the functioning of human beings in penitentiary isolation and the psychological processes taking place in this isolation. The context of assistance, support and rehabilitation is also important. The practical aim is to encourage people to work with prisoners, as well as with former prisoners.

Lecture

Objectives and objectives: as in the first semester

Form of credit: oral test

Transcript conditions: writing a paper on an agreed topic.

Programme content:

1-2 Prison subculture: group communication system, prison dialect, secret code, group hierarchy, social relations in prison, changes in subculture as compared to the changes in recent years.

The phenomenon of self-aggression and simulation in prison: self-aggression and prison subculture, psychological background of self-aggression and its types.

4-5 Prison tattoos: functions, basic properties, types, content and symbolism of tattoos.

Produced by participants of subculture - psychological background: ballads and songs, utility products, decorative letters, accessories for self-aggression.

6 Concepts of genetic conditionality of crime: research on twins, adoption research.

Level of mental fitness and crime: to present studies and conclusions.

8. hormonal disorders and abnormal human behaviour: presentation of studies and conclusions

9-10 Psychological diagnosis in the penal process: subject and scope of diagnosis, diagnostic procedures, forms of psychological opinions.

11) Thief psychic: ordinary theft, robbery, scammers, malverts.

(12) Sex offenders' psychology: motives, therapies.

13-14 Murder's psyche: murder motives, typology, personality and values of murderers 15th Presentation of own work experience among prisoners.

Efekty kształcenia i opis ECTS:

Knowledge - a student knows how to interpret the behavioral variation of people in penitentiary isolation; - knows the psychological methods used to diagnose in the case of prisoners; - knows the methods of psychological intervention for prisoners in a given category; - knows the principles and methods of social rehabilitation.

Skills - the student can choose methods for psychological research conducted in penitentiary units.

Competences - the student is competent in the field of psychological and crisis intervention in the prison environment.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Examination in the form of oral it is required basic acquaintance of material on estimate 3, on good estimate - detailed acquaintance material, on estimate good very on surface of practice - ability transmit (reschedule) theoretical content penitencjarnej and resocialization.
