Skrócony opis:

Classical and Contemporary Sociology of Religion: An Open Continuity belongs to the sociological agenda in a basic courses of sociology at univeristy studies. At any given point of the program the sociological agenda involves some classical categories and its transformations and amply demonstrates that there are many different sociological approaches to religion. In the individual parts of the course we introduces distinct facets, privileging some to the detriment of others. In this perspective we found possible to group these diverse - and even contradictory - outlooks around a series of basic contentions

Pełny opis:

The program is about the problematique of classicasl and contemporary sociological analysis of religion. In the separate lectures it can be clearly distinguished and tracked.Viewed as a whole, this program encompass the sociological universe of discourse about classical categories of the analyse of religin and its transformation in modern and postmodern uses.We want to elaborate some specifically point of view on the function of the religion in society in transition. More specifically, we analyze this discourse by distiguishing sic foci of reseach:

(1)Modern humanism and the crisis of sociology: problem of definitions

(2).Confrontation between modern social structure and culture with secularisation and secularism

(3)Religion as culture, functional analysis , and structural differentiation

(4)Religion and society in transition

(5) On the religious scene in the modern central and Eastern Europe

(6)Religion, culture, identity and globalization

Each of these foci has own presentation on the lecture. Each of the lecture shows the main questions and delineates the relevant analytical unit. Among them there is the problem of the continuity and discontinuity in the sociology of religion as a problem of its theory , methodology ,and practice. It is also the problem of modern expereince of religion itself. We will be demonstrating that there are possibilities tio elaborate with pinpoint accuracy some specific sociological point of view on the topic that we derive from the literature regarding the various foci of the sociological discourse
