Short description:

The classes will cover basic, fundamental issues in the field of catechetics. During the classes, the student will gain knowledge about what catechetics is, what issues constitute its reflection and what is the current state of research on the status of catechetics as a theological and pedagogical science.

Full description:

Catechetics is part of practical theology, including pastoral theology in a broad sense. Due to the subject of research, catechetics also has strong references to pedagogy. Catechetics analyzes various catechetical concepts, thus developing the theology of catechesis by: analyzing the goals, nature and subject of this sub-discipline in the Church's saving ministry. During the classes, the student reflects on this process and learns about the most important challenges faced by catechesis today, as well as teaching religion at school. The scope of the acquired knowledge also includes issues from the border of anthropological sciences, thanks to which the catechetist can better get to know his addressee and the environment of saving ministry.
