The lecture deals with prophecy as a category characteristic for fundamental theology in the context of end-time prophecies. For this purpose, the theology of history will be presented, which includes the final fulfillment of history through Christ's return to earth. Particular emphasis will be placed on the figure of the Antichrist and the signs that accompany his appearance. Social and religious processes as signs of the end times will also be analyzed.

1. The student knows the main biblical end time prophesies,

2. knows theological conception of prophecy,

3. masters various details on Antichrist’s times.


1. The student is able to deepen theology of history,

2. assesses apocalyptic tendencies in theology and in society,

3. can approach various prophecies, Fatima, La Salette and others.

social competences:

1. The student is able to discuss about the role of prophecies,

2. uses arguments from prophecies for the credibility of revelation,

3. tries to read the signs of the times in social context of religious experience.

unsatisfactory (fail - 2): the student does not know anything about biblical end time prophecies

satisfactory (3): knows some elements of the prophecies

good (4): has a good knowledge of the prophecies,

very good (5): has an excellent knowledge of the prophecies and their theological impact


unsatisfactory (2): the student does not realize the question of theology of history,

satisfactory (3): is able to see some elements of theology of history,

good (4): is able to see many elements of theology of history,

very good (5): is apt to use theology of history in the contemporary context.

Social Competences:

unsatisfactory (2): the student is not interested in approaching the end times question,

satisfactory (3): uses some arguments to prove credibility of revelation

good (4): justifies Christianity using arguments from prophecies

very good (5): promotes the right understanding of prophecies in the social context
